FAST-NU Alumni Canada, the alumni body of the graduates of the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology – National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Pakistan (FAST-NUCES) strives to make an impact by empowering the next generation of emerging alumni by funding scholarships and providing career/settlement support in Canada.
FAST was established in 1980 and its founders’ visionary step into I.T. education in 1985 has resulted in the establishment of a sterling institution for the advancement of technology and research in the country. The university has five modern campuses in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Chiniot-Faisalabad. These campuses provide world-class educational environments and recreational facilities to about over 11,000 students, around one-third are female and over 500 skilled faculty members. The university has produced over 42,000 emerging technology professionals, of which approximately 1500 reside in Canada.
The Association represents the interests of all Alumni in Canada to the University, and encourages and assists with Alumni engagement in Canada and works with other Alumni chapters around the world.
Our alumni association is also dedicated to providing support for new immigrants as they navigate their new home. We offer a variety of services, including social support to help with the transition, job referrals to help them find employment. Our goal is to help new immigrants from our alumni feel welcome and supported as they begin their new journey. We believe that by providing these services, we can make a positive impact on the lives of these alumni and the Canadian community as a whole.
